Rain, Rain Go Away, Come Again Some Other Day

It has been raining almost every day for the last two weeks. I am really getting a bit tired of it. Besides too much work, I have been wearing myself out. Our washing machine broke, I caught the cold that every one else has had in the classroom, it is the second cold in the last two months. This wouldn't happen if the parents would keep their sick kids home. I feel obligated to work because they won't send a sub for me. I am only an aide. I comfort myself by drawing Lost in Space pictures.

The Jupiter 2

I wanted to do the Lost in Space Jupiter 2 on the ground in a landing/crash site. Instead as I was drawing and doing the color it morphed. Now it looks about to land. So that stuff in the picture is suppose to be dust and debris. Also there are creatures watching.

The Global Markets versus Those Lost In Space Dreams

It is so depressing. The Markets worldwide are falling, and all I want to do is draw Lost in Space pictures. I don't get it. I should be doing those preparations. And somehow getting ready to move out of this place. I know I won't be here forever, living here with my mom. Yet, I can't get myself in gear. I would rather draw or do watercolor, or even sew and read. But then I am so tired all the time.

Working with Tempera, and Watercolor

I get to take a boy named Eric to art class three days a week. While there I get to have fun interacting with him and the teacher and the other students in this "mainstreamed" class. This last week I actually had some moments where I was able to do my own little art work while sitting there next to Eric. The entire class was working on color theory, and the mixing of colors. They had three colors only, of tempera, and were mixing their own secondary and tertiary colors. Here is my Lost in Space robot picture which I did using the three colors of tempera. Finished it in about 15 - 20 minutes during the class period. Also is a horse I did the other day, at home, in acrylic and watercolor. The robot picture was done without a picture or a model to paint from. So I suppose he looks very primitive. At least I remembered his arms!

Horses, Doctor Smith, and Those Ever Lovin Aliens

We are back to school this week. Between walking the dog, work, and all those nescessary errands I've made a promise to myself. That is to do some artwork every day. During the Winter break I did some sort of art almost every day. Some of those days I did a lot of sewing. I also made a couple of felt ornaments onto which I sewed sequins and beads. But drawing and watercolor are the most gratifying part of my life.

The Tennis Ball Fairy Today

I love the rain. Perhaps because we have so little change in seasons, when we have rain I love it. We usually go to Angwin to walk on Thursdays. But today we did not, instead we did errands. I just have to put some rain pictures here, one of me and one of Sarah. The Tennis Ball Fairy was at work again and Monty found one of her tennis balls. He insisted on carrying the ball throughout the entire walk. Silly dog!!

Say Goodbye 2007

I spent the last few hours of 2007 drawing the Lost In Space robot and Dr. Smith. At midnight I could hear all the noise and celebrating outside. It scared Sarah's cat Spooky. But our dog Monty didn't seem to care.

The first picture I did in early December.
Now I wait to see what 2008 will bring. I don't want to be a fatalist. But one must realize that the economy is not ok. And the web bots paint a dire picture. I get solace in painting, drawing, and creating watercolor pictures.
